Dr Kamal Khan MBChB MRCP

Dr Khan is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and based at Pennine Acute NHS Trust. He undertakes assessment for all cardiac conditions but specialises in coronary artery disease. His area of expertise is coronary angioplasty (stents). Dr Khan primarily undertakes his procedures from the wrist(radial approach). This can allow you to sit up and be more comfortable in your post procedure recovery with a lower risk of bleeding.

Undergoing coronary angioplasty can be very daunting. Dr Khan's professional and pleasant manner will ensure you are confident through every step of your experience.

Coronary angioplasty can be undertaken electively but is also performed in an emergency when a heart attack is being suffered. Dr Khan performs procedures on heart attack patients at the Manchester Heart Centre and you can be confident of the service provided by a specialist who is fully capable of dealing with both elective and emergency situations.

Dr Khan is a member of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society and the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions. Within the North West Dr Khan has a considerable network of colleagues and can provide introduction to the very best cardiologists who specialise in other areas such as pacemakers and ablation therapy.
